Phrases that heal hearts when spoken from authentic hearts and spoken with no agenda other than truth.
1. "I'm Wrong"
2. "I'm Sorry"
3. "I don't define you by your weakest moments."
4. "I'm proud of you."
5. "I forgive you."
6. "Talk it out, cry it out. I will listen."
7. "Tell me honestly what you see in me... that may be blind spots for me."
8. "Thank you"
9. "I will become someone I am proud of."
10. "I love you!"
I have heard it said that "I love you" is a phrase overused. I don't believe that. I am not saying all "I love you's" are created equal. Some use the phrase as a casual way to end a phone conversation with someone they care for. I'm good with that. Some statements are like the one I had yesterday when I took Canton to preschool. He did not want to leave Papa. He looked directly at me, shook his head and said "Papa, NO, Canton weeuydth Papa" (I didn't ask him for a spelling.. just spelled it like it sounds). I told him that I had to work and he had to go to school. His response, "sad" (he has just added that word to his vocabulary). When he grabbed my neck and said "wub u Papa", it was a high impact "I love you" that was both a heart-breaker and an incredible heart-healer.
I had someone else take him into school.... I sat in the car and cried (Yeah I know I am a wimp... and I can live with that). How could a 2 year old boy have such impact on a 46 year old man? LOVE! It's better than ice cream!!!!

Very, very nicely done!
